The Boys & Girls Clubs of Carroll County is celebrating a significant milestone as CEO Sean Davis has been named the Outstanding CEO of the Year for Maryland by the Boys & Girls Clubs’ Maryland Area Council. This prestigious honor is awarded annually to a Maryland CEO who demonstrates exceptional leadership, organizational growth, and a deep commitment to youth development.

Davis’s recognition comes on the heels of an impressive period of expansion and innovation under his leadership. Over the past three years, both the Club’s budget and membership have grown by more than 70 percent. During that time, Davis has spearheaded several impactful initiatives that have strengthened services and expanded access for youth throughout Carroll County.

Among his accomplishments, Davis led the organization’s expansion to the North Carroll Clubhouse in Hampstead, brought middle school programming to every middle school in the county, and launched the Kahlert Leadership Academy to serve middle and high school students. He also secured a $1.4 million federal earmark to support the Club’s continued growth and elevated the organization’s signature fundraising event, the Polar Dunk, to record-breaking levels of success.

Davis has also built strategic partnerships with Carroll Community College and local businesses, connecting teens with hands-on workforce training and real-world career opportunities.

“It is humbling for your hard work to be recognized by the Area Council and our national office,” said Sean Davis, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Carroll County. “The Boys & Girls Club is bigger than just one individual. I owe a lot to my team, and I will certainly share this with them. This is a great accomplishment for our organization.”

Board Chair Kathy Mayan echoed the sentiment: “This well-earned recognition reflects Sean’s incredible impact. Under his leadership, the organization has grown significantly, expanding after-school programming, leadership opportunities, and workforce development for hundreds of youth across our community.”

The Boys & Girls Clubs Maryland Area Council includes Club leaders from across the state and presents the Outstanding CEO of the Year award to one individual annually who exemplifies strategic vision and leadership in youth development.

Currently serving over 950 youth annually across multiple Clubhouse locations, Boys & Girls Clubs of Carroll County continues to grow and innovate under Davis’s leadership, helping local youth thrive in school, work, and life.
