Marcia Ellsworth “Mama” Wingo, 96, of Woodbine, passed away peacefully at home on September 13, 2025. Born March 27, 1929, in Evanston, IL, she was the daughter of Charles and Gladys Ellsworth and wife of the late Henry Thomas Wingo. A graduate of The American University with a degree in English and Literature, Marcia was a devoted homemaker and mother. She was an avid reader, crossword enthusiast, and cat lover who enjoyed cooking and religious programs. She is survived by her daughter Nancy, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and was predeceased by her son James and three brothers.
