Household Hazardous Waste Collection & Document Shredding
Carroll County Government Recycling Operations is sponsoring a residential-only Household Hazardous Waste Collection event on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 8 a.m. to noon. The event will take place at the Carroll County Vehicle Maintenance Facility, 1250 Old Meadow Branch Road in Westminster.
Carroll County residents can drop off household items that are corrosive, toxic, flammable, or reactive, as well as medications and sharps for safe disposal. Please visit the Carroll County Government recycle resources page at recyclecarroll.org for details about what materials are accepted. Residents can also shred a maximum of three (3) banker’s boxes (approx. 24”x15”x10”) or bags (or equivalent volume) of sensitive papers. Document shredding is available until the truck is full.
The Carroll County Health Department (CCHD) will also offer a drive-thru drop off for residents to dispose of medications (no liquids) and sharps (syringes, etc.).
