Hilda Cecelia Koontz, born January 9, 1940, in Baltimore, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, in Hanover, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Hood College and the University of St. Thomas, Hilda had a distinguished career in counseling psychology and organizational development. She held the Master Career Development Professional designation and contributed to respected publications in her field. In 2001, she turned her passion to Civil War history, becoming a noted lecturer, reenactor, and author. She served as President of the Gettysburg Civil War Roundtable. Hilda is survived by her children, Matthew and Holly, and five beloved grandchildren.
