Walter Joseph Amass, Jr., 72, of Westminster, MD, passed away on September 13, 2025. Born May 1, 1953, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Walter Sr. and Phyllis Amass. A graduate of Catonsville High and Catonsville Community College, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service until retiring in 2012. Walter was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, known for his service to family, church, and community. He sang in the choir, coached softball, volunteered with Girl Scouts, and played Santa at Sandy Mount UMC. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, three daughters, seven grandchildren, and extended family.
