Ellen Irene “Renie” Mathis, 80, of West Friendship, MD, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025. Born July 8, 1945, in Glenwood, MD, she was the daughter of Andrew and Grace Jones and wife of the late Danny L. Mathis. Renie is survived by sons Danny Jr. and Dale (Denise), five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and her brother Richard “Sonny” Jones. She worked over 30 years in the Howard County Public School System, known for her dedication and warmth. Renie found joy in family, and her loyal dogs, Snuggles and Matty, were always by her side.
