A powerful and moving tribute is coming to Carroll County as the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall arrives in New Windsor from October 9 to 13, 2025. The wall, a three-fifth scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC, will be on display thanks to the efforts of Babylon Vault Company, a 95-year-old family-owned business based in New Windsor.
The event is expected to draw over 10,000 visitors throughout its four-day run and will feature a series of special programs, exhibits, and ceremonies to honor Vietnam veterans and educate the public about their sacrifices.
The tribute begins Wednesday morning, October 9, with a community procession escorting the wall to its destination. The public is invited to line the route as the escort—featuring motorcycles, veterans’ groups, and other organizations—travels from Mt. Airy to New Windsor. The escort departs Mt. Airy Fire Company Activities Building at 9:30 AM, arriving around 10:00 AM at the New Windsor Firemen’s Building, where the wall will be assembled.
Donna Babylon, owner of Babylon Vault Company, is leading the effort and has organized a variety of heartfelt activities throughout the event to pay tribute to all Vietnam Vets.
The wall, standing six feet tall at its highest point and stretching nearly 300 feet in length, bears the names of more than 58,000 Americans who died during the Vietnam War. Alongside the memorial, a series of exhibits and guest speakers will provide opportunities for education and reflection, creating a meaningful experience for people of all ages.
New Windsor officials are working closely with organizers to ensure a welcoming atmosphere, including providing American flags for residents to wave during the escort’s arrival. Full event schedules, including speaker times and topics, can be found at BabylonVaultCompany.com.
This event offers the community a unique chance to pay respects, connect with veterans, and learn more about a pivotal chapter in American history. All are encouraged to attend and participate in this moving tribute.
