The Carroll Hospital Foundation invited the community to celebrate breast cancer survivors in style at the annual Pink Fling, presented by Advanced Radiology, on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Bortner Valley.
Guests enjoyed an afternoon filled with music, laughter, shopping from local artisans, and education on early breast cancer detection. The event’s highlight was a group photo featuring more than 90 breast cancer survivors.
Attendees also heard remarks from Dr. Dona Hobart, medical director of the Center for Breast Health at Carroll Hospital and Northwest Hospital, along with two breast cancer survivors.

This year’s event, which sold out weeks in advance, welcomed over 300 attendees and raised about $130,000 to support breast cancer services at Carroll Hospital. Breast cancer survivors received complimentary tickets, and guests were encouraged to wear pink attire.
Proceeds from the event benefited both the Embrace Program, a 12-week wellness initiative for newly treated survivors, and the Center for Breast Health at Carroll Hospital.
As part of the Paint Carroll Pink campaign to support the Carroll Hospital Foundation, artist Nicole Osborne painted nearly a dozen windows at businesses and organizations in the area, including windows at Carroll Hospital. Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the community also showed support through the “Paint Carroll Pink” campaign, where local businesses decorated storefronts and hosted fundraisers to benefit the Center for Breast Health.

Participating businesses included Covalent Spirits, Island Green, Patapsco Distillery, EW Becks, Texas Roadhouse, and Maryland’s Jeep Club, with events such as pink-themed drinks and a “Putt for Pink Festival.”
