Charles Mardel Mathews, Sr., 89, of Mt. Airy, passed away on October 28, 2025, after a short illness. Born September 28, 1936, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Edgar and Anna Mathews. A Mount St. Joseph High and Loyola University graduate, Charles proudly became the first in his family to finish high school. He worked 40 years at Domino Sugar, retiring as Regional Controller. Devoted to family, he is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bernadette; sons Charles Jr. (Susan) and Paul (Deborah); four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. His greatest joy was the strong family he helped create.
