The Carroll County Board of Commissioners is inviting the community to gather for some early holiday cheer at the county’s annual Holiday Lighting, set for Wednesday, December 3 at 5 p.m. The celebration will be held outdoors on the Westminster Center Street steps in front of the Carroll County Government Office Building.
New this year, the event will feature the premiere performance of the Carroll County Government Employee Chorus, known as The Carroll Tones. The group, made up of county employees, promises to bring holiday spirit to the festivities with a selection of seasonal favorites. Commissioners hope the performance will become a beloved new tradition for the community.
Organizers say attendees may want to keep their eyes peeled — reports from the North Pole suggest that Santa himself plans to make an appearance, arriving in festive fashion aboard a firetruck.
The official lighting program is scheduled to begin at approximately 5:30 p.m. Any changes or weather-related updates will be posted on the Carroll County Government website and their Facebook page.
Commissioners welcome residents and their families to return to Center Street throughout December to enjoy the holiday display and extend wishes to the community for a safe, happy, and festive holiday season.
