Katharina Maria Hartig, born in Germany and died on November 22, 2025, in Sykesville, Maryland, was a beloved friend, neighbor, and dedicated nurse. After immigrating to the U.S. in 1963 with her mother, she studied multiple languages in Europe and the U.S. before settling in Columbia, Maryland, in 1975. Katharina earned her nursing certification at Johns Hopkins Hospital, but her true passion was breeding and raising Jack Russell Terriers, through which she made countless friends over the years. She is predeceased by her brother Hans Christian Hartig and will be fondly remembered for her kindness, dedication, and warm spirit.
