John Joseph Challenger, 57, of Hampstead, passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2025, at Carroll Hospital Center. Born in Baltimore, he was the beloved husband of Susan Challenger, devoted father of Beatrice, and cherished “Pop” to his grandchildren, Owen and Sophia. John spent over 30 years in the plumbing and mechanical industry, most recently as Director of Purchasing at Anchor Mechanical. A passionate guitarist and lover of 1980s heavy metal, especially the Scorpions, he enjoyed concerts, time in his garage, and caring for his home. Known for his generosity and simple kindness, John will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
