M. Jean Means, 95, of Pleasant Valley, passed away January 7, 2026, at her family farm, “Means Rest,” surrounded by loved ones. Born May 11, 1930, in Annapolis, she was the wife of the late John W. Means, Sr., with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. A Westminster High graduate, Jean was a talented seamstress, baker, and longtime volunteer. She devoted 68 years to the Pleasant Valley Fire Company Auxiliary and was honored with multiple Hall of Fame inductions and the MSFA Honey Award. A faithful member of St. Matthew’s UCC, Jean lived a life of service, generosity, and love for family and community.
