Kenneth Edward “Ken” Krantz, Sr., 84, of Mount Airy, passed away January 7, 2026. Born October 10, 1941, in Frederick, he was the son of Henry and Ruth Krantz. A U.S. Navy veteran who served aboard the USS Fremont, Ken later worked as an electronics engineer and technician. He was a devoted Scout, earning the Silver Beaver Award, and was known for his love of model trains, tractors, and the Grateful Dead. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma and daughter Debra, and is survived by his son, grandchildren, extended family, and many friends.
