Herbert V. Sauter, 96, of Rockdale, MD, passed away January 15, 2026, at BridgingLife–Dove House in Westminster. Born May 23, 1929, in Hebbville, he was the son of the late Herbert R. and Mildred L. Sauter and the devoted husband of the late Betty Jean Sauter for 72 years. A 1946 graduate of Catonsville High School, Herbert worked 45 years for the B&O Railroad and CSX. An Army veteran of the 101st Airborne, he was a man of faith, family, and quiet dedication. He is survived by his daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
