James Frederick Hiler Sr., 90, passed away February 7, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. Born in Defiance, Ohio, he served honorably in the U.S. Army before a distinguished 26-year career with the Social Security Administration and later work with Westinghouse/Northrop Grumman. A dedicated volunteer, Jim served with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department for over a decade and sang with the St. Agnes Men’s Choir for more than 20 years. He is remembered for his commitment to family, community, and service. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia, sons James Jr. and William, and grandchildren Noah and Donald.
