Dr. John “Duke” Melvin Frazier, 81, of Westminster, MD, passed away on February 19, 2026. Born April 24, 1944, in Greensboro, NC, to Mary Ellen and Richard Vann Frazier, he grew up in Baltimore and married Barbara Anne Douville in 1965. A Johns Hopkins University graduate with a doctorate in physics, he was a Professor of Toxicology for 21 years and Associate Director of the Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing. Later, he served as Senior Scientist with the U.S. Air Force and taught at Wright State and Michigan State University. An accomplished author and lecturer, John loved gardening, stamp collecting, fishing, woodworking, classic rock, soccer, and traveling worldwide with Barbara. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings.
