John Williams Boynton, Jr., 93, of Baltimore, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026. A 1950 graduate of The Gilman School and 1954 graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where he played varsity lacrosse, he also served in the United States Army at Fort Bragg. John devoted much of his life to education, teaching and coaching at Gilman, Avon Old Farms, Greenwich Country Day, Holderness School, and later St. Paul’s School for Boys. He later founded Benefit Designers of Maryland and remained active in community life at Acts Fairhaven.
