Michael James Pitts, 48, of Hampstead, Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, surrounded by his family. Born October 21, 1977, in Towson, Maryland, he was the beloved son of James F. and Frances “Kay” Pitts. Michael graduated from Carroll Springs School in 1999 and lived for many years with the support of Target Community and Educational Services and Penn-Mar Human Services. Though nonverbal, his joyful spirit, smiles, and hugs touched everyone who knew him. He enjoyed community outings, swimming at the YMCA, and visiting Calm Acres. Michael is survived by his parents, sisters, nieces and nephews, and many loved ones.
