Westminster Softball League Launches $1,000 Scholarship for Former Players

Westminster Girls Softball has announced the creation of the WGS Continuing Education Scholarship, a new annual award designed to support former players as they pursue education beyond high school. Beginning in 2026, the organization will award a $1,000 scholarship each year to a graduating high school senior who previously played in the league and plans to continue their education at a two- or four-year college, university, or trade school. For more than 50 years, Westminster Girls Softball has served the Westminster community, providing young athletes with opportunities to learn the game of softball while developing teamwork, leadership skills, and lasting friendships.

Applicants must have participated in Westminster Girls Softball for at least two seasons, maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and submit a completed application along with an essay describing how their experience in the league influenced their life and future goals.

Applications for the 2026 scholarship open March 8, 2026, and must be submitted by April 1, 2026, with the selected recipient to be notified on or before May 12, 2026.
