Gordon Linton Daugherty, 68, of Sykesville, Maryland, passed away on March 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 10, 1957, he grew up in the Columbia area and became a talented and widely respected artist. Gordon studied at the Pratt Institute, Maryland Institute College of Art, the Corcoran School of Art, and the Washington Studio School. A self-employed artist, he created portraits, landscapes, murals, and decorative finishes for private collections, churches, and businesses across the country. He later settled in Sykesville, where he worked from his farm studio. He is survived by many close friends and his beloved dog, Joey.
