J. Lee Annis, Jr., 68, of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away on March 5, 2026, after a brief battle with aggressive cancer. A respected historian, professor, and author, he spent over 40 years teaching at Montgomery College while contributing widely to academic scholarship. He authored several acclaimed books and remained deeply engaged in research, including a final project for Hanover College’s bicentennial. Known for his vibrant personality and strong connections, Lee cherished friendships and gatherings of all kinds. He is survived by his sister, extended family, and many friends, and will be remembered for his intellect, warmth, and enduring curiosity.
