Joseph Henry Zang, 90, passed away peacefully at home on March 27, 2026, following complications from Parkinson’s disease. Born July 15, 1935, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Joseph and Teresa Zang and stepson of John Popp. A proud veteran, Joe served in the Maryland National Guard for nearly 40 years, retiring as a Colonel (brevet) Brigadier General. He was married to his beloved wife, Shirley, for 70 years. Joe enjoyed music, woodworking, golf, and community service. He is survived by his wife, son, grandchildren, and great-grandson, and was predeceased by several family members.
