George “Sam” Kenneth Warner, Jr., 78, of Taneytown, passed away peacefully at home on August 16, 2026. Born July 20, 1948, in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late George K. Warner, Sr. and Madeline Fogle Warner. Sam was the devoted husband of Peggy Warner for 53 years and a loving father and grandfather. A 1966 Taneytown High School graduate, he served in the U.S. Army from 1969–1971 and worked 35 years at Random House in Westminster. He coached baseball for 17 years and umpired Little League for 30 years. Sam enjoyed Gettysburg history, bowling, golfing, gardening, and time with family.
