Shirley Jeanette Evans Thomas, 78, of Severn, Maryland, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026, at Lorien Assisted Living in Taneytown. Born November 12, 1947, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Emil Franklin Evans and Margaret Mollie Thornberry Evans. A graduate of Sykesville High School’s Class of 1965, Shirley loved the arts and performed in plays throughout the Baltimore area. She also enjoyed dancing and spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, James Matthew Thomas; five siblings; and many loving family members. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Mae Thomas Klosterman, and two siblings.
