Joseph Bruce Hoofnagle Jr., 95, of Woodbine, Maryland, passed away August 16, 2026. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, he was the son of the late Mildred and Joseph Hoofnagle Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Shirley, and brother Charles. Bruce is survived by his brother John, five children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran, he earned degrees from Virginia Tech and the University of Baltimore. Bruce enjoyed a distinguished career as an intellectual property and patent attorney, working with Western Electric, AT&T and Black & Decker. He continued practicing law after retirement.
