Janice Louise Wittle, 94, of Sykesville, MD, formerly of York, PA, passed away on April 16, 2025, at Fairhaven Retirement Community. Born January 24, 1931, in Harrisonville, PA, she was the daughter of Charles and Pauline Hockensmith. Janice met her late husband, James Donald Wittle, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage. She was dedicated to her family and worked over 20 years as an elementary school librarian’s aide. A distinguished member of Shiloh Lions Club, she received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. Janice is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, and extended family. She was predeceased by her son Jeffrey and grandson Parker.
