When creating content for your business’ social media, you want to make sure your brand is staying consistent and representative of who you are as a business. Photos and videos are the best way to grab your audience’s attention, but sometimes you need to add some text or graphics to help visualize your ideas.
Below are some tools to help add some pizzazz to your social media posts, create physical promotional posters, whip up a flyer for a sale, or create a social media graphic for an upcoming event. These apps are best used with Instagram, but can be used for Facebook, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest and more.
Launched in 2013, Canva is an online design and visual communication platform with a mission to empower everyone in the world to design anything and publish anywhere. Canva is great for novice creators as it is very user friendly. It has an easy point and click user interface and can be used on your smartphone or computer.
You don’t need any prior experience to use Canva, but keep in mind, with any application comes a learning phase. The app is free to download and free to use on your web browser, with in-app purchases to use upgraded features. With some creativity, you can use this app completely free to create beautiful and professional graphics for your business.
Vivisticker is a toolkit for creating beautiful stories & reels. This application is best for Instagram, Facebook, and Tiktok stories and short videos. You can use this to place text on a video or create a quick and informative story. Vivisticker takes some time to learn but is overall user friendly if you have some experience with design apps. The base app is free to download with in-app purchases.
Adobe Express is used to make Reels and TikTok videos, flyers, resumes, banners, logos, and more with the all-in-one Adobe Express app for fast and easy content creation.
In my opinion, Adobe is the best and most flexible group of design applications. Adobe introduced this new app tailored specifically to social media creators. Adobe will give you the widest selection of features in a design app, but will take the most patience to learn. Some experience with overall Adobe applications or graphic design applications is encouraged. The base application is free, with in-app purchases to use upgraded features. I would recommend investing in its upgraded features as it makes the overall app experience flow better.
Keep in mind, as these tools are wonderful, they are not replacements for a professional graphic design service. While there are many that design their front facing graphics through these applications, that doesn’t mean you should use them for something as important as your business’ logo. Happy creating!
