Alexis “Lex” Newman Schwartz Jr. of Eldersburg, Maryland, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at the age of 91. Born in Lansdowne, Maryland, to Alexis Sr. and Hilda Schwartz, Lex was known for his easygoing nature, infectious laugh, and love of teaching. A talented architect with Ayers Saint Gross, he mentored many before retiring in 2013 to pursue art. He was passionate about history, sports, and his family. Lex was predeceased by his wife Joy, son Alexis III, and son-in-law Charles Moyer. He is survived by daughters Darlene and Cheryl, sister Elaine, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
