Alice Jean (Bixler) DeGroff, 92, of Sykesville, passed away on March 14, 2026. She was the youngest of eight children born to the late Oscar C. Bixler and Florence M. Nusbaum Bixler and the wife of the late Dwight H. DeGroff Jr., with whom she shared 57 years of marriage. Alice worked as a telephone operator for the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company before later serving as a cafeteria aide at Sandy Mount Elementary School. A longtime member of Sandy Mount United Methodist Church, she enjoyed traveling, sewing, quilting, genealogy, and spending time with family. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
