Avelino Alonso Perez, 89, died peacefully Feb. 1, 2026. Born Nov. 10, 1936, in Güira de Melena, Cuba, he immigrated to the United States in 1966 and proudly built a life defined by hard work, responsibility and lifelong learning. A baker by trade, he was known for his dedication and tireless work ethic. He enjoyed Cuban music, classic western films and sharing laughter with his grandchildren. Avelino cherished family above all. He is survived by Maria Alonso and a loving family of children and grandchildren who will carry forward his warmth, humor and enduring example.
