Bernus Ann Buffington, 85, of Emmitsburg, passed away peacefully at York Hospital on December 29, 2025. Born August 23, 1940, in Thurmont, she was the daughter of Bernard and Anna Maude Shorb. Bernus was married for 28 years to her beloved husband, Gerald Buffington, who preceded her in death. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured her family. Bernus worked for many years as a caregiver and housekeeper at St. Joseph Provincial House with the Daughters of Charity. She enjoyed playing cards, good food, and especially time spent with family and friends.
