Betty Barr, 93, of Upperco, Maryland, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born October 17, 1932, in Aldie, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John Francis and Margaret Estelle (Stains) Wilson. Betty married James Russell Barr in 1950, and together they raised their son, Stuart Alan Barr, before moving to Upperco. She worked for Maryland Casualty Insurance, Dr. Gabby of Sinai Hospital, and later Dr. Toth, DDS, and dedicated decades to volunteering at Wesley United Methodist Church, Boy Scouts, NESAP, and Meals on Wheels. Betty is survived by her son Alan, daughter-in-law Cindy, grandchildren Michael and Matthew, great-grandchildren Lily, Levi, and Logan, and her beloved cat Sabrina. She will be remembered for her generosity, devotion, and joyful spirit.
