Betty Marie Wright Carey, 89, of Taylorsville, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at Lorien Assisted Living in Taneytown, Maryland. Born June 21, 1936, in Taylorsville, she was the daughter of Frederick Talbert and Grace Marie Grimes Wright and the loving wife of the late Jack Edwin Carey, to whom she was married for 60 years. Betty worked 30 years as an LPN after training at Springfield State Hospital, and was an active member of Taylorsville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, granddaughter, step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, siblings, and companion Michael Yurko, and was predeceased by her brother Robert Lee Wright.
