Carla Brown Rhodes, 79, of Sykesville, passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2025, after a long illness. Born February 21, 1946, in Jackson, MS, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Julius Winston Brown and Sarah Elizabeth Roberts Carter Brown. She was the beloved wife of William Joseph Rhodes, whom she married on June 7, 1969. Carla earned degrees in Education and Guidance & Counseling from the University of Mississippi and taught in both Mississippi and Maryland, later working for the Carroll County Board of Education. A member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, she is survived by her husband, children, sister, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
