Carroll Community College is thrilled to present its Spring 2025 musical production of Company, the Tony Award-winning masterpiece by Stephen Sondheim with a book by George Furth. Performances will be held at the Scott Center Theater on campus May 1, 2, and 3 at 7:30 p.m., with a special matinee on May 4 at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, faculty, staff, alumni, senior citizens, and Indigenous Peoples. Community members are encouraged to purchase tickets early to ensure a seat at this must-see production. Rated PG-13 for mature themes, the show offers an unforgettable night of theater that’s both emotionally rich and intellectually engaging.

Company is a groundbreaking musical that first premiered in 1970 and remains as relevant and resonant today as it was over 50 years ago. The story follows Bobby, a bachelor on the brink of his 35th birthday, as he navigates a complex web of romantic and platonic relationships through a series of sharp, witty vignettes. With unforgettable songs like “Being Alive” and “The Ladies Who Lunch,” the musical offers a candid, often humorous look at love, commitment, and solitude in the modern world.

This year’s production is under the direction and choreography of Cody Cooley, who returns to Carroll Community College after choreographing Young Frankenstein in 2023. A Maryland native, Cooley holds a B.A. in Theatre Performance from Rider University and has performed, directed, and choreographed for theaters across the country.

He is currently based in New York City, where he continues to work in professional theater. Most recently, he appeared in the world premiere of the musical Who’s Got Me at Jewel Theatre. Audiences may also recognize him from his role as Squidward Tentacles on the U.S. and Canadian tour of The SpongeBob Musical. His professional credits include collaborations with NETworks, Prather Productions, Arizona Broadway Theatre, Post Playhouse, Forestburgh Playhouse, and Toby’s Dinner Theatre, among many others.

The production also serves as a valuable experiential learning opportunity for Carroll students. From acting and singing to set design and stage management, students are involved in every aspect of the show’s development and execution, gaining hands-on experience in the performing arts.

Whether you’re a seasoned theatergoer or new to musical theater, Company offers an emotionally rich, thought-provoking experience that speaks to the universal questions of connection and companionship. For more information visit Carroll Community College’s website or you can reserve your tickets before the show.
