Carroll County officials will host a solemn remembrance ceremony on Thursday, September 11, 2025, to mark the 24th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. The event will take place at 8:30 a.m. at the Carroll County Public Safety Training Center (PSTC), located at 50 Kate Wagner Road in Westminster.

Held annually, the ceremony honors the nearly 3,000 lives lost during the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93, as well as the countless sacrifices made by first responders, military personnel, and civilians in the aftermath. The event will take place in front of the PSTC’s 9/11 Memorial, which prominently features a steel beam salvaged from Ground Zero in New York City.

Local leaders and county representatives will be in attendance to deliver remarks and pay tribute to those who served and sacrificed. The ceremony serves as a time of reflection, unity, and community healing, reaffirming Carroll County’s commitment to never forget the events of that day.

Members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend the outdoor ceremony. Uniformed personnel are respectfully requested to wear Class A uniforms or an equivalent formal dress as a sign of honor and respect.

As the nation continues to honor the legacy of the fallen and the resilience of those who endured, Carroll County’s annual observance stands as a meaningful reminder of the enduring impact of September 11, 2001.

For more information, residents can visit the county’s website at carrollcountymd.gov. For those unable to attend in person, the county will provide multiple ways to view the ceremony. The event will be available for viewing on the county’s YouTube channel, social media platforms, and the event will also replay on Comcast Channel 24.
