Charles Thomas “Tom” Sparenberg, 79, of Hagerstown, passed away on April 25, 2025, at the BridgingLife Dove House. Born May 11, 1945, in Baltimore to Violet Blanche Sparenberg, Tom joined the Army at 17, serving as a corporal with the 2D Howitzer Battalion, 31st Artillery in Operation ‘Big Lift.’ He later spent his career as a truck driver for companies like Avis, GPX, and Food Lion. A loyal Orioles fan, Tom also enjoyed coaching little league, watching WWII movies, exploring Civil War sites, and playing pinochle. He was a proud veteran, devoted father, and passionate lover of history and baseball.
