Elias Gordon Brauning, 89, of Taneytown, MD, passed away on November 18, 2025. Born in Baltimore in 1936, he was the son of the late J. Paul and Emma Brauning. He was married to Shirley Brauning for 23 years and later to Betty Brauning for 35 years, both of whom preceded him in death. Gordon devoted decades to community service, including 40 years with the Kingsdale Volunteer Fire Company and life membership at Harney Volunteer Fire Company. He was active in local churches. He is survived by his children, step-children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and special friend Mary Blum. He was predeceased by several family members.
