Books and Brews Book Club: The Frozen River

This month’s selection is The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhorn, which is historical fiction set in 1789, but is inspired by the real life of Martha Ballard, an 18th century midwife. When a murder shocks her community, she refuses to accept anything but justice and speaks up at a time when women were considered best seen and not heard.
