The Delaplaine Arts Exhibition Openings: Group Shows and Solo Exhibition Artists
View exhibitions and meet the artists on Saturday, December 6, with galleries open beginning at 9 a.m. Beat the crowds and visit earlier in the day to experience the full range of new shows, all on view through December 28. The lineup features painting, photography, and mixed media that highlight both emerging and established talent from the Frederick arts community.
Featured exhibitions include Doug Moulden’s What Comes of Dreams, a collection of paintings that explore the full range of human emotion—from beauty and light to fear and darkness—combining the openness of poetry with the wonder of dreams. Katie Jurkiewicz’s Westward presents large-scale acrylic paintings that capture the awe-inspiring beauty and solitude of the American Southwest, featuring interpretations of landmarks such as the Grand Canyon, Little Colorado River Gorge, Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods, and Joshua Tree. The Frederick Camera Clique showcases photography by members ranging from beginners to semi-professionals, reflecting over 30 years of dedication to improving their craft. Rounding out the schedule, the Delaplaine Student Art Exhibition celebrates creativity in a variety of media, featuring works produced by students of all ages and skill levels in Delaplaine classes held over the past two years.
