Francis Xavier McNicholas, 96, of Sykesville, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, surrounded by family. Born January 28, 1929, in Sparrows Point, he was the beloved husband of Virginia McNicholas for 72 years. A proud U.S. Marine and Army veteran, he served with distinction in the Korean War as an Airborne Infantry Sergeant. After his military service, he held leadership roles in aerospace and defense. In retirement, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, and time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and was predeceased by his daughter, Gina. Fran will be deeply missed.
