George E. “Gene” Rosensteel, 93, of Fayetteville, PA, formerly of Fairfield and Emmitsburg, passed away on September 28, 2025. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, Gene was a machinist, business owner, and retired Emmitsburg Postmaster. He was a devout Catholic and dedicated member of St. Joseph’s Church, deeply involved in community service, including the Emmitsburg Lions Club. Gene and his late wife Sylvia were married for 68 years and raised five children. He was passionate about helping others and restoring antique clocks. Gene is survived by a large, loving family and was preceded in death by several relatives.
