George Erotokritos Galiachatos, 89, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away surrounded by loved ones. Born in Kefalonia, Greece, he overcame hardship, emigrating to the U.S. in 1961 with no money or English skills. Through determination, he built a successful life, founding The Lincoln Charcoal Inn and later a real estate business. George was a devoted husband to the late Piye, with whom he shared a 60-year marriage, and a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He cherished both his Greek roots and American life. Remembered for his resilience, generosity, and love of family, George leaves a lasting legacy of strength and compassion.
