George Thomas “Tom” Wilhide, 84, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026. A dedicated educator, Tom taught English, worked as a guidance counselor, and spent 27 years at Cecil Community College as a professor, advisor, and athletic director. Known for his mentorship, he earned national recognition for advising student-athletes. After retirement, he returned home, remaining active in local athletics, church life, and community service. Tom was a kind, supportive presence who brought joy to others. He is survived by his sister, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be held April 11, 2026.
