Howard Joseph Kapfer III passed peacefully at home in Keymar, Maryland, on August 20, 2025, surrounded by family. Diagnosed in 2024 with advanced bile duct cancer, he courageously chose palliative care, guided by deep faith. Born in Baltimore, Howard graduated from Mt. St. Joseph in 1959 and built a successful plumbing business with his sons. He generously gave back through community service, especially with Rebuilding Together. A skilled craftsman, he loved travel and golf, but cherished faith, family, and hard work most. Howard is survived by his wife Lynn, five children, seventeen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren who lovingly called him “Poppers.”
