Illona Gayle Grigg Hull, 78, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025. Born on March 8, 1947, in Shreveport, Louisiana, she was the oldest of five children. Illona graduated from Gaithersburg High School and earned degrees from the University of Maryland and Louisiana Tech University. She taught in Carroll and Baltimore Counties for 25 years. Illona married John “Jay” Hull Jr. in 1971, and they raised three children on Hullside Farm in Westminster. A passionate quilter and educator, she was a National Best of Quilting teacher and Certified Judge. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and siblings.
