James “Jim” Jay Hursey, 61, of Odenton, MD, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, after a brave battle with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease. Born March 29, 1964, in Aurora, Colorado, Jim was a talented athlete, inducted into Liberty High School’s Athletics Hall of Fame and a standout basketball player at Western Maryland College. He was a devoted husband to Theresa “Terri” Gagen-Hursey and a proud father who passionately supported his children’s sports. A respected healthcare executive, Jim served as COO of Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Known for his humor and love, he is survived by his wife, children, siblings, and extended family.
