Jessica Rae Meerdter (1981–2026) was a devoted social worker and advocate for children in Carroll County. A Westminster High graduate, she earned her BA from Western Maryland College and a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work, building a 15-year career in child protective services and becoming a supervisor in 2016. A loving wife, mother, and daughter, Jess was also a gifted singer and creative spirit who loved camping and family life. Her wide musical tastes ranged from Tori Amos and Ani DiFranco to Bad Bunny and Zara Larsson, reflecting her vibrant personality.
