Local youth bowlers from Carroll County stole the spotlight this past weekend at the Duckpin Youth February Match, hosted at AMF Southwest Lanes, delivering precision, focus, and a dramatic finish that left spectators cheering.
Representing Carroll County, Logan Sieck and Ethan Gerhard of Parkville Lanes, along with Gavin Nonemaker of Greenmount Bowl, showcased outstanding skill throughout the tournament. Joining the team was Zachary Penny from Middle River, whose consistent play contributed to the squad’s overall success.
The February Match attracted top talent from across the region, including competitors from Connecticut and Rhode Island, creating a competitive environment where young athletes tested their technique, composure, and sportsmanship in the challenging sport of duckpin bowling.
The championship came down to the final frame against a skilled team from Dudek Lanes in Rhode Island. With the outcome hanging by a thread, all eyes were on Gavin Nonemaker. Under intense pressure, Gavin delivered two clutch strikes in the 10th frame, securing a thrilling four-pin victory for the Carroll County team. The tense finish had fans on their feet, celebrating an unforgettable moment.
